Exhibition | Anneli Skaar: Dandelion Life

June 16 - July 16, 2022

Anneli Skaar’s Dandelion Life is a pandemic reflection on finding the comforts in standing still where you are. The work exalts familiarity and the mundane, and makes sacred the familiar views of being home.

Join us for an artist talk with Anneli Skaar at the gallery Sunday, July 10, 2022 at 4pm.

SAME VIEW, NEW DAY

In the days of quarantine, Curtis Island was as constant a companion as the moon. The Camden icon was the view from her home, her window, her deck, her studio. She paints it and the moon repeatedly, capturing the shifting light and weather.

BEAUTY & BEASTS

Maine spring brings glorious blooms and plagues of pests. The splendor of flora arrives with the inevitable scourge of unwelcome fauna: lily of the valley with a black fly, peonies with an ant, an apple with a wasp, apple blossom with a brown tail moth caterpillar.
