February 1 - 28, 2026
an interactive art show for our community of youth, kindergarten through 12th.
This year’s art prompt is to draw, paint, or collage THE WAY I PLAY!
Kids of all ages are invited to pick up a free postcard or panel at the gallery, make a drawing, collage, or painting. Think about what play means to you — the games they love and the ways they have fun. “Play” can mean anything that makes you feel creative, adventurous, or joyful.
You might think about:
Your favorite games — board games, sports, video games, make-believe, or outdoor adventures
The people (or pets!) you love to play with
The places where you play — a park, your room, a backyard, or even a dream world
The feeling of play — excitement, teamwork, imagination, or laughter
Finished artwork will be exhibited in our Youth Art Show on display from February 1-28. Postcards are available now for pick up at the gallery, and are also distributed through the local schools.
COLLABORATIVE MURAL
The mural project recreates a famous painting, which is divided into 20 sections. Camden Hills High School Students in Carolyn Brown's Drawing & Painting class have each been assigned a panel to replicate their part of the image in the medium of their choice, focusing on matching value and color. Panels of collage connect to panels of paint, together making a large mural - measuring 6 feet high and 9 feet wide.
This year's mural is after Pieter Bruegel the Elder's Children's Games, painted in 1560!

Past years' murals after Marguerite Zorach, Dahlov Ipcar, Janet Fish, Marcel Dzama, and Kerry James Marshall:
