Colin Page (b. 1977, Kalamazoo, MI) is an artist living and working in Camden, ME. Colin Page was raised in Baltimore, MD and studied painting at the Rhode Island School of Design and at the Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art.
Colin Page plays within the bounds of value to use an abundance of color. He paints the Maine landscape and still life as a family portrait. His landscape paintings begin with direct observation and are resolved in the studio. He captures the atmosphere and light of a scene, and uses emotive color to translate the remembered experience of a place. His still life paintings are full and patterned portraits of family life, swirling with objects that hold stories of time spent together.
Colin Page has exhibited extensively in Maine (solo shows in Page Gallery, Greenhut Gallery, Courthouse Fine Art Gallery, Dowling Walsh Gallery and Camden Public Library) and across the US (solo shows in Anglin Smith Fine Art, Charleston, SC; Huse Skelly Gallery, Balboa Island, CA and F.A.N. Gallery, Philadelphia, PA.)
